My observation has to do with the bow cleats because of the position relative to hull deck joint.

The boat was supposedly designed under European standards which are supposedly pretty stiff.
But of course, we're all just speculating on whether the cleats did or didn't fail -- and if so, whether it was the nature of the sea, the speed of the tow, etc.

- Doesn't surprise me in the least the cleats tore out, I suspect most of us would suffer a similar failure...
