Those of us indoctrinated lake sailing, are used to the process. It was often quite nasty with undersized pumps and hard to find locations in years past.

But it's gotten much better at least in my area with a new pump out boat. An enormous pump takes mere seconds to drain the tanks completely, no mess, and I don't need to be on board. Just call the harbormaster from boat or land and give your boat name.
