OK most of you east coast guys will just take this in stride with your normal annual hauling... but us west coast folks don't do an annual haul... in fact, usually we only bottom paint every couple of years.
I need to replace a couple of thru hulls... obviously I will have to haul the boat. So do I have the yard do the replacement, or what? They want $300 a piece for this. Frankly, due to the hassle of getting in there and dealing with what ever might crop up... this doesn't really sound like a bad price. And since I don't have the annual haul out period to muck with this... seems like getting the yard to do it as quickly as possible is perhaps the best idea.
So what do you think? Let the yard do it? Get in there and get my hands dirty and hope I can do it all in a reasonable time? Take the boat to Mexico, let them do it? Or move to the North East and haul my boat like you do and then do it myself on my schedule? (uh, not about to move... so forget that option.)
