What Todd is talking about is actually NPS - National Pipe Straight vs NPT - National Pipe Tapered.
Marelon seacocks are NPS on both side. I would expect the same with Bronze ones.
There are NPS ball seacocks available. IMO, for maintenance reasons I prefer them to the tapered plug type.
