Sailing jib and jigger in the forecast NW winds of 25, gusting to 30, we sailed a broad reach under jib and jigger the 26 or so NMs to the island for the long weekend.
With the wind building to more like 30, lulling to 25, it was all the sailing we wanted. A few miles from the high rocky island, we fell off toward the lee side to escape the wind and waves.
What an escape the east side of the island was. Another world.
