• 17 hours on Monhegan Island.
  • Coasting alongside the quiet cliffs, the silence was spectacular.
    • The island came to an end though, and we turned back into the wind
      • Safely connected to a large industrial mooring, our boat began a raucous dance.
        • At midnight, I decided I'd try to rig another line to get the bow on the crashing waves.
          • We did survive of course, and following a nice breakfast, we hit the dinghy to head for shore.
            • The wind still roared on the island.
              • I could see the top of the spruce spar on Xmas in a few places, it was gyrating,...
                • Monhegan is a good cross section of Coastal Maine.
                  • Back on board, I thanked the rusty cable, and cracked off for the mainland.
