The wind still roared on the island. 
In Response To: We did survive of course, and following a nice breakfast, we hit the dinghy to head for shore. ()
() But it was much more pleasant onshore than onboard CHRISTMAS.
We hiked quite a bit but didn't have our, normal, energy. There are about 17 miles of hiking trails as well as small lanes and roads.
Monhegan notes: Most of the buildings are tidy and well kept with a few exceptions. Despite the small size, there are clear neighborhoods and areas of in town and woods.
