Yes lots of bad press about Rocna quality problems from the Chinese-made version in other discussion groups. People have done actual testing and the tested samples show the metal doesn't meet the spec Rocna advertised. Also, the RINA certification Rocna claims is reportedly in process, and hasn't actually been issued. Assuming all that is true there are some serious ethics questions (and maybe legal questions) to be answered from the present management.

I would go with Manson. It's about as good as a Rocna in performance and the quality is not in question. I own one of each (my Rocna is pre-China).
