when cruising, one has to deal with breakdowns of equipment.
just one of life's challenges I guess. But this one is a little
different. There was a lot of discussion awhile back about
using a netbook. well, I bought one, (about 15 months ago) needing
a pc with a long battery life. it was an asus netbook. It has worked
fine up until a week ago. We use this for e-mail and grib files via winlink.
booting up, cursor is frozen. asus factory tech says try to restore to
original from the factory settings. we did. it worked for a day.
now I can't get by it at all, so they say I have to ship it in. Well,
address is in Florida, bought it thru England, and we are in Spain, but on the
move. So, guess we just have to buy another. at least netbooks are
not that expensive.
And so goes the cruising life.
