Having just installed all new electronics myself...

The hard part is pulling wires. My friend is an electronics installer and I helped him but it was still a tough job. The chartplotter, radar, AIS, VHF, and autopilot took us about 40 hours, and that's on a trawler where access to things is pretty good. I paid $110 an hour in Stamford CT, $115 an hour in Oyster Bay NY. I do my own work now.

So my guess is that they're figuring 40 hours or more to install all new electroncis, so the installation cost will be $4000 or more.

I'm in Annapolis now and I asked for a quote for a guy to replace both my alternators and the quote was $700 to $800 per alternator (I have two) plus installation. LMAO!
