I started 'self certifying' our liferaft 10 years ago and have done it 3 times. A friend and I unpacked checked and repacked his just 2 months ago I trust them.

I know it's a bit of a daunting concept but is seems rather strange that we are completely 'self accountable' for our survival and learn to do almost anything but when it comes to the one thing we have on board to save us as a last report we give it to someone else to do. I like 'self certifying', the one part that I change is that I take most of the extra stuff out and put it in good ditch bag with a lot of other good items. Makes more sense and I can't fit it back in anyway.
