and though we'd like to explore new places it's a stretch. We have limited time and would have to stage the boat, and she and I agree that sailing and schedules don't mix well. Extended motoring isn't my thing. There are still harbors in the Cape Cod and Southern New England area we yet haven't seen by boat, and others we enjoy going back to. Within the limits of a leisurely 2-3 week cruise we have lots of options.

Our home port in western LIS is as pretty as any, and Southern New England is one of the best summer cruising areas anywhere. The vacation is where we are.

This is the view from my mooring. Sometimes when there isn't enough time to go sailing I just go there for an hour or so to pop open a brew and "chill" or work on small maintenance projects. It's my own floating island with a beautiful view that puts me in another place, mentally.
