When you arrive from a few hours south, you'd want a protected place to spend the night. There's all kinds of variables. Protection, parking, dinghy access, distance to your mooring, distance to sailing grounds, and on and on.
We've had many less than desirable experiences in all those aspects. But overall, mooring the boat in many different harbors, was a great way to get to see a lot of cruising area.
This area of the coasts best attribute I think is, just outside the harbors, you fall off and you're gone.
