OK in 12 kts of wind, on a close reach, with waves in the 2-3 foot range with 10s period...
In Response To: crusing speed? ()

and your boat loaded with provisions for a 3 day weekend, using your newest sails, after the bottom has been cleaned, and in air temp of between 50 and 80 degrees F.

And the rig is properly tuned, and you are in a good mood, and you see Tom on his boat up ahead about 1/2 mile away going in the same direction. (yee haw!... race time)

What might your speed be?

And what color is Tuesday?

BTW for the record, my boat's rated hull speed is 6.3kts; I have had it, under sail (beam reach, ~13kts wind, 2-3 foot waves, all three sails pulling) up to 6.5 kts. It typically motors at about 5kts.

I am just curious what you geet outta them three hull beasties. GRIN
