Photo day - Deal is done
Congrats Tom
Yes, F31R, interior is being refinished
Just keep it LIGHT Tom
multi-hull rule of thumb?
Tom, when you get done "smoking" my boat next season, come on back, I'll feed you.
Thanks, Tom. I'll head up in the morning and meet you for lunch
What kind of cruising speed do you typcally get?
crusing speed?
OK in 12 kts of wind, on a close reach, with waves in the 2-3 foot range with 10s period...
and just for grins...
That's another thing about sailing that's hard to describe, the noise.
What noise?
No hiss, no humm from TR? Sorry.
Noises,,,,
On my
Assuming 12k apparent wind
My test sail in 18kts of wind had us doing 15kts on a close reach.......I bought the boat an hour later
on my F27
That is impressive.
18 knots apparent or true?
True
Apparent wind is all I care about when trimming sails
LOL... I crossed that line of death in my Beach Cat once.
Thanks for the advice.
Another factor is F31 hull shapes
Also I'm not in favor of auto-inflate or foam PFDs
Agree on non automatic
Lot more people would seem to be served by automatic vs. non-
I should have added
Aside but germane: Within the past two years I began wearing the bici helmet riding it around town...
Have you had Jaunty in the water?
Planned for effectively not going out on the foredeck in the design.
By the way, you can see I have a PFD on and never left the dock nor started the engine. Just "checkup" event.
Westy -- I have a spare anchor roller in my garage
Thanks for the thought! I'm fixed up. See pic...
That should do just fine
5' to 7' submersion?
I should said 4' of submersion
reminds me of a funny incident
Also prefer non-automatic..
Al, the ones that I have (from West Marine) require that the vest be 4' under water to go-off automatically.
LOL "if we drop below 4 or 5 knots sustained..."
I use 6 for planning - that takes the pressure off
That's interesting. 4 to 5 knots is a very satisfying cruising speed on our monohull.
"speed floor" and "planning speed"
I read that a couple times.
Too many rules for me. I'd say sailing is as much an art as a science.
I get it
Larry, can I put in my two cents here?
For us it depends on distance to travel.
Congrats looks like fun
Won an online photo contest with this one...

And you did make this yourself??
It's getting to be fall.....
Nice stove... but...
It was installed in
Wow, now that is heat control.
Here is....
Just posted
anybody know what these are?
I think so
They look a lot like pilot gigs
This nice little HR went for free last spring
Congrats Tom! I've never anchored in Kent Cove.
North bound
My heart flutters...
June 8th to be exact
Dude! Musta been that one day summer in June...
Finally, a sailing shot!
Nice indeed!
Nice. Not easy to get the motion, light, together in sailing photos.
A long pole with the camera Wifi'd to a tablet?
Jaunty on the road for some off site work.
Fall Pursuit Race Sailing
warmth of the sun
Nice shot. Wish it was bigger.
Thanks Tom, not sure how to make it bigger
You have to have a bigger file to start.
