Joel White sailed those lights to Bermuda safely, 30 years ago.

I know the boat, it's like a museum, but only for the reason that almost everything on it still works! I bet those lights are the originals from 1956, a solid chunk of bronze.

Joel was the 3rd owner of that boat when he sailed it up and down the coast of Maine and Canada in the 70's and then to Bermuda in 1982. Now it's owned by Joels boat building son in law so no chance he'll change those lights.

The spacer is a good idea. Still I think I'll stay cover free just because I like to get off the mooring with the least amount of fuss these days. I often don't even cover my mainsail on the mooring.
