Those might actually not be a easy to really grab for a smaller hand. They look nice, though.

I guess you're right! Hmmm,... here's another very detailed set.

I took the handrails off my boat 10 years ago, it's time to put them back on.
Tom sounds like you don't need much input the only thing I would add
That makes SS rails a great idea. Easy removal
Think bronze
Stainless Steel is fine in your area, but...
That IS what we found also!
That's funny, I spent 4 years in Mexico
Here is a picture of Brendon in Mazatlan
My concern about stainless rails here..
This is how I handled the sailing and cruising
SS
I rather enjoy the boat work(of my choice), it's the safety onboard at 60 I need to handle.
Can you "marry" them below with handrails on the inside?
I have mixed emotions about covers
I have the typical continuous handrails along the cabin below,
On Passage, I painted them same color as the cabin top. Worked perfectly for decades.
Great example!
Hope they don't sail that boat in your pic at night...
Joel White sailed those lights to Bermuda safely, 30 years ago.
You know, you can sail with the canvas covers on :^)))
Sleep in your clothes too.
Great idea Jon.
Mine are the same as roverhi describes
Those are nice. I've seen some very well crafted hand rails
Here's my cabintop. It's stepped,
Have you seen
Yes Greg. In fact I removed a couple dozen from my cabin.
I see....
If you use SS (real, SS), I wouldn't think it should ban issue.
'ban' = 'b[e] an' issue above ;^)
I ripped mine off - inside and out - and replaced them using nut and bolts and bungs...
For atonement, I hope you varnished for your penance.
You have all the tooling needed
I guess you're right! Hmmm,... here's another very detailed set.
Some painted handrails on a low(er) maintenance wooden boat.
Those might actually not be a easy to really grab for a smaller hand. They look nice, though.
Is 1" round the holy grip, er grail of handrails?
I would think 1" or so would be best.
Here's a PS article that says 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" dia???
The cross section of the rail
That article leaves a lot to be desired...
If you are a do-it-your-self er then
If I were to do that I would...
Your right. Experts don't come cheak but
I plan to use mahogany Brian.
That's about my plan...
PS. I prefer ...
Have you considered using something like Ipe decking lumber, Brian?
Good idea - I'll look into it.
A guy might consider splitting a 14'ish hand rail into two parts.
I know...
Surfing around...FYI
