But again, you are conflating different issues in trying to denigrate Navionics.
For any charting program, you have a choice of charts. Navionics is one choice. We have raster, Navionics and CMap versions of the charts in the SW Caribe. They all have errors in different areas, and in some areas all of them are in error. I have pointed out to you in the past several areas where Navionics was spot on and CMap was way off.
The same mistakes exist on paper charts. Please find me any version of charts of the SW caribe that do not have errors. They do not exist.
OpenCPN is a software charting program that uses charts. It is not a set of electronic charts. If does not even come with any charts. You can have the exact same errors, more errors or different errors depending on which charts you use with the program. Advising that Navionic charts are a toy and OpenCPN is better is a non-sequitor - like saying John Denver's music stinks and you should use the iPod instead.
If you want less error-free charts, then you need to learn to make your own using Google Earth, and BSB-to-kap software using more accurate guide book chartlets.
