Anyone who has traveled south feom California to the Mexican Gold Coast knows that until recently all charts, electronic and paper were off by 2 to 3 miles. I made a webpage with photographs of side by side comparison on the chartplotter (radar on one side and charts on the pther) to show the problem. I received a new and free updated XL card of the entire West Coast and Caribbean 4 months later with a thank you note in the package (2008).
I found no problems with Navionics Gold charts in Panama. Yes, in Panama there were areas that were off by a hundred feet at most but I find that acceptible for the remote area.
