Do you feel the same about the AIS and radar?

Many of us CAN use a plotter at the helm AND use our eyes, experience and navigation skills. These are complementary, not exclusive things. There always is a lot of noise about the evils and perceived dangers of chartplotters at helms, but I just don't get it.
Unless the plotter is mounted in a way that physically blocks you from seeing the water or navigating properly.
