Hi Dan,
The PrecisionTemp is pricey (~$1500) but I'm very happy with it, and now I rarely have to run my engine. I have gone to solar for electricity, and it provides all my power save perhaps when I have a couple rainy days in a row. My engine HW heat exchanger died a couple years ago, and rather than replace it I put in the PrecisionTemp, with a short feed both to the head and to the cockpit. The water is set to ~104F so only one hose is required, and no water wasted adjusting the temp. You can take a quick sponge/bath type shower and not use all that much water. I have the advantage that my wife is petrified about running out of fresh water, so she uses it sparingly Before this we were actually quite happy with solar camping shower bags supplemented with hot water from a kettle as necessary.
Solar power and the PrecisionTemp has been a nice combination, and gotten me off needing to run the engine.
