The unit is already putting out AC and if you are getting say 10 amps DC from it then you are getting 1 amp AC at 120 volts. Wouldn't then the wire sizes needed be smaller? And you can then rectify it in the boat much closer to the batteries thereby again using smaller wires. Seems a no brainer to me but obviously I'm missing something.
