() And good info to know. 'faster more coordinated response', that's what you want. I'm amazed at the efficiency of 911 the few times I've seen it used. They cut out all the stuff that seems to slow the CG in these emergency's. Besides, there may be a closer rescue than CG, that 911 is ready to connect you to.
I hear so little VHF traffic on the coast of Maine. I'm afraid some of the diligence it took to monitor radio traffic, especially on shore, has fallen away.
