() if you maintain the same LP (perpendicular from luff to clew).
A 100% jib has an LP equal to J, the length from tack fitting to the front of the mast.
If you keep the same LP = 100%xJ, you'll lose sail area low down but get it back higher up.

- In heavy air and a wet seaway, the higher cut will tend to avoid catching a bunch of green water that might come at it.
