The traditional jib is mounted well forward of the staysail, isn't it?

Using the boomlet on the staysail would allow you to set the lead on the staysail by adjusting the various connected lines.
Is your issue with the staysail boom the concern with going forward or the hassle with roller furling it?
Anyway, I would think you would tend to furl the jib first if it gets snotty. So, it really is just a case of visibility up there.
Where do you sail? (Wind speed, sea state, traffic, etc would be considerations.)
