That's the best way, recycle before it goes onboard.

We're getting better at that but for so many years, it was usually directly from the grocery store to the boat, then cast off, with a family of four. A lot easier now, with just two of us, mostly. But I'm looking more closely at everything that comes onboard. Sometimes it irks me to no end the packing that gets sent with products! Some mail order businesses that fill your car with packing, should be outlawed. Why allow that?

It's a breeze when you find an island(in a pinch, better to take it to the mainland) or harbor that has a recycle and disposal area. There's good incentive to recycle(no charge), and you end up with less to pay for disposal. That's what drives recycling here. They just keep raising the cost of the required waste bags, and no charge for anything you recycle.

Then they just run the county owned disposal center, like a business.
