Maybe because sailing means different things to each of us.

For racers, it's a means to compete. High energy stuff. For cruisers, it's a means to an end. Propulsion to get to the next destination.

And when you talk about light air sailing, that doesn't appeal to everyone that sails(some racers prefer it, I bet). Partners, families, friends, not everybody enjoys sailing at 1.5 knots. It takes patience, it can be frustrating at times(slatting sails).

You have to already be there, to have enough time to enjoy a day sailing at 2 knots.
