We could pace a Nordhaven under power and motor for almost 800 miles. When the magic happens we could take it and have a wonderful sail. With the apparant wind ahead of the beam at 16 we could make almost 9 knots. The short rig with only 1050 feet of sail made her manageable with only 2 people.

There were times I wish I had more sailing performance or make more speed in less than 10 but we could do it all. A good compromise for what we did. It wasn't a sailboat but a condo that could sail or motor almost anywhere.

Unfortunately as time goes by and age hits hard, nothing becomes manageable.
