I'd like to talk to you about sailboat diesel engine panels,...
Here's my take.....
I like that thinking. It is easy (to re-do), and the material is scap.
Mebbe? Leave enough wire in the runs to trim the ends now or at a later date?
I envision enough to pull the panel out for easy work. I'm headed to the boat with wire cutters,...
A rewarding project that I should have done years earlier ...
Looks great Tom
I wish I could sleep as well as a happy dog
Amen.

Hour meter...
I may add one but I can't normally put on a hundred hours in a season. So engine stuff is annually
My boat came with a failed hour meter
I use the hour meter to note run time for fuel calcs...
Does that mean it's a fluke when you can sail? Heheheheheheh...I'm so easily amused.
At the lake last Thursday....speaking of flukes.

We learn to cherish the days when the wind blows just right!!
Gotta say this about that photo.......
That drifter/reacher/spin is a nice idea...
It was a hank on with hanks about every 6' or so. Back then I had no roller furling.
Looks very nice, Tom
Yes I have the old fashioned Cheroble type of Amp meters. Check out my wiring. ABYC
NICE!
Thanks. The best part of this project, is what goes away. Here's the old panel hole and wire chase.
Looks much like the mess I've been dealing with, Tom.
On your boat or you Rover?
Both, now that you mention it.
Having done this, it seems like the simplest way to upgrade my DC panel, is to build my own.
Probably easier than the instrument panel you just built
That's great! I need even less circuits.
electric macerator pump
No macerator pump
I'd make labels for you
Thanks, Larry
If you want the real ones
Mainesail told me about that option when I built the panel
Labels are a joke. Like cable TV: 700 channels and nothing is on(or correct)
That could certainly be done
Just get a label maker...
Agree on the convenience of ATC fuse boxes
Be careful!
Wow! Nice work, Ray. I have a question on your fusing.
One was for alternator
Geez! Talk about anal......
Re: Geez! Talk about anal...... Nice!
Hey, salvage that nice Stewart Warner engine hour meter...
That quit at 2003 hours, on the second engine. I get no resistance. Dead?
I see the need for new.......it's gonna be so gorgeous!!
A nice fellow in Florida over on Sailnet, found a Hobbs Engine hour meter in his shop.
Plus it feels good to have a new engine,...(great for resale!)
Sweet!
Good things happen to good people.
Re: A nice fellow in Florida over on Sailnet, found a Hobbs Engine hour meter in his shop. Yeah!!!
