I hadn't thought about using those fuses. I have the old panel type fuses. They and the toggle switches are all soldered connections. They're still serviceable in the old panel but I'd start with new devices of course.

I'd guess my limit on panel front is about 10 x 12". Small but would work if breakers/fuses were located elsewhere. There is good space behind for bus bars and connections. In fact I could do the fuses that way. I don't see the need for quick access to them.
