I use the hour meter to note run time for fuel calcs...
In Response To: My boat came with a failed hour meter ()
and as I mentioned earlier, maintenance jobs, such as oil or impeller changes.
I have a small mechanical hour meter that is pretty reliable.
I have found that here in the PNW, I actually run the engine more than in So Cal. The winds are quite a bit flukier.

- A nice fellow in Florida over on Sailnet, found a Hobbs Engine hour meter in his shop.
