It's totally self contained - a sealed wire coming out of the transducer, with a plug at the other end of the wire. All in perfect visual condition.
I'll call Lowrance and see what they say. I tried to re-set the settings tonight, and it doesn't even give me the option to display depth, so that leads be to think is a software/settings issue not a hardware issue.
