I think the issue is your cable

The cable 000-00129-001 documentation does say pin 7 (RS232 Rx GND) is orange and pin 8 (RS232 Rx Positive) is green. So if yours doesn't conform it is defective cable manufacture. Mine was as it should be.

- I called B&G support today
- The old B&G Hydra (18 years) used only NEMA 0183. NEMA 2000 didn't exist then. NO problem with data
- All sounds good! I'm filing these for reference when I wire mine up.
