The old B&G Hydra (18 years) used only NEMA 0183. NEMA 2000 didn't exist then. NO problem with data

The New B&G H5000 (Hercules updated) can send and receive either 0183 or 2000. The Furuno NEMA 2000 can't see or be seen when it comes to data communication. We're having to go back to 0183 to drive the autopilot and send data to the Furuno.

Compatibility is relative -- plug and play is relative -- etc.... Many times, it's not clear which unit is at fault.
