It's a straight plug-in replacement for all connections except the power cord. Even at $500 it's a good deal, because you can get at least $250 currently on eBay for an HDS7 in good shape. If it turns out your HDS has a problem it's a cheap replacement. You should make your decision soon though, because the $500 is a close out price and they'll sell out the inventory.
