I tried the B&G Zeuss Touch 7" on the water yesterday
In Response To: Re: B&G Zeuss Touch 7" ()

I regret to say it's not as easy to use as I thought from initial impressions. I need to go back and read the manual, and figure out my settings.

The unit doesn't show data from my AIS or interact with my Raymarine Evo200 AP course computer, however these devices show up in the NMEA2000 diagnostics screen and the device type is being read properly by the Zeus. The Lowrance HDS7 worked "plug and play". Been all through the setup menus many times and will call support next.

It's also not picking up wind info from the NMEA2000 bus, via Raymarine Seatalk to Seatalk ng converter, but the HDS7 didn't either. I might need the Raymarine iTC-5 Instrument Transducer Converter but I'm not willing to make that investment unless I see everything else working. (AIS in particular).

On the plus side, the BR24 radar, sonar transducer and charting functions work beautifully, and it's far more responsive than the HDS. I don't need to AP interfaced (it works but I never use it on the HDS) but I do want the AIS. If I can get AIS working it'll be a keeper. Otherwise it will go on eBay.
