Pretty soon the boat found a good slot. And it was a beautiful day too, bright, crisp, cool, clean. Before we got into the lee of Ptown, I was beginning to fall off a bit more and the boat was sailing beautifully in the mid 7's.
Once inside the lee of the land a bit, waves subsided but wind, if anything, increased. It seems to do that on approaching land at times, is that true?
At any rate, the boat roared to the very end of the spit of land before I brought it into the wind to lower the sails. It was a great sail. Having left Onset at 9:30 am, I motored behind the breakwater and into the calm of the inner harbor at 2:30.
