My boat was on one of the most southerly moorings, but the mooring field extends quite a ways west. There were no moorings between my boat and the large catamaran on my port bow -- those white dots are white caps (it was blowing 20+k from the west). The shoal water extends quite a ways out from the beach and the mooring field goes close to the shoal water. To anchor you'd have to go south of my boat and/or west closer to the cat or CG cutter. It's somewhat exposed where we were, and the ferries/whale watching boats pass west of the breakwater at a pretty good rate of speed, throwing substantial wakes.
