With a forecast of NW 15 to 20, gusts to 30, I had a good sail to Provencetown to the Northeast.
Except for one wave that cleared the port veeberth shelf of books, things started to smooth out.
As the waves stretched out more, speed went up.
Plenty of time to grab the camera and go ashore.
There are a few characters, like any popular place.
This is why many of us stop there by sailboat.
actually, it is a pretty big harbor
Holding? I had a mooring Jerry. It's pretty tight in there.
free stuff?
You mean near the west seawall/breakwater? or at the edge of the Harbor outside the seawall?
No, I mean
I've been in there -- with the large boat traffic, I found it pretty rolly with the wind out of the south and southwest.
I suppose not. I find snug anchorages are harder to find on the Cape.

I'm only slightly more advanced than Jon, my phone has a camera.

It's not illegal to jailbreak an Iphone.

From the top of the P-town tower
The climb will get your heart pumping too
Here's another angle
Nice shots. Where's your boat in the harbor Larry
You can see it in the first shot I posted
Are all the boats to the right of the town pier anchored?
No the moorings extend west and north from where my boat is
The moorings protected by the breakwater are mostly private-owned
If the forecast was for strong ESE I'd want to get out of P-town
So if they're privately owned....
Harbor Rules...(The Great Westward Migration -- non-Indian term ;^) )
Possession is nine-tenths of the law(until someone proves otherwise).
Actually, Northeast Harbor's system works well
Sounds like passing the buck...
Hahah. That's the 1st time I ever heard P-Town described as like any place!
September travelers have a reputation as being the more blase'
well, it's a lot different
It's not too shocking from Maine standards. I saw this young man,...
Parents can find lots of things to worry about
I see you went to Common Ground Fair Tom
We must have missed her. It was bloody hot saturday!
What a gift to us, you are Tom.
Thanks Doug! It's my pleasure to share what I enjoy about sailing
I should edit though. Provincetown, with an "I". That would be annoying, especially if you lived there.
Quite a ride! And then the peaceful harbor.
My father had a Yankee 30.....
