I suppose not. I find snug anchorages are harder to find on the Cape.

So I tend to use a different scale in grading anchorages there. I use a different wind scale too, Maine equivalent + 5 knots. And don't even mention the currents.

At times after spending hours in brisk winds, even a landlocked anchorage, like say Hadley Harbor, while calm on the water, is still windy as hell inside! It's the lower land in many cases I think.

At any rate, with winds out of the North at 15 knots plus, Provincetown is hard to beat. I can see where some fetch is possible from the southwest. I've been lucky in two visits to find the moorings inside calm.

I considered anchoring just inside the outer harbor but with the north winds, I changed my mind. The area Jerry mentions looked doable. There was a boat or two in there. I was lazy, and 35 bucks was burning a hole in my pocket anyway.
