Went up to ski with a friend with a ski shack, taking my K4 Merlins and some old rear entry Salomon boots. I thought folks were going to mug me for these boots! Here are all these folks in the lodge, fiddling with the waxed paper trying to get into their $600 Lange boots, and I just slip into these old rear entry things. I think the boot makers have lost sight of what's really important to people. They'll say 'We have the greatest boot in the world for you, just sign here.' Too bad you can't get your feet into them!
