How did you come to love boats and the sea?
It runs in the family...
"It runs in the family", I think that's the key for many of us.
My Father, and some distant ancestors.
Wow! What a great history Kevin.
I'm pretty sure it all started with Sea Hunt...
You too? Pretty sure that's where my family started too
Went snow skiing and stood in a lift line for and hour.
Ow! I have your revenge Dan.
Um, I beg to differ, Tom
You only laughed because you were safely uphill from me.
Cute photo. But where's her body? All I see is a good looking blond head hanging above the snow.
Thought I was going to get mugged at Sugarbush.
Memories
I was born into it
Grew up on Narragansett Bay
A friend told me that ...
It is in the genes...
I don't love the sea
In my case my love of boating comes from several sources...
Good question. Don't know!
My dad put my brother and me, age about 5 & 6, in a rented rowboat
Sometimes I think there's irony that some of the "boats" we own today, were the "yachts" of our parents generation.
Well the physics of water and wind have not changed...
Grew up near the ocean but never sailed till adulthood
I took my wife sailing on our first date. That was her first sail.
Usually you can spot the less harmonious couples during the anchor or docking drills (grin)
Same for my other half, too
At 22, gal and I had a rubber raft at a lake....
Didn't have a choice
My first boat, when I was 7 or 8 years old, was an 8' plywood rowing pram
Me too....
I , too
Blame it on Nan.
I was born a rigger, here's me on my first solo rigging inspection...
I grew up around the water.
The love came late, but then...
I like that! I'll be saving that one Jim
