Sometimes I think there's irony that some of the "boats" we own today, were the "yachts" of our parents generation.

My boat may have sailed by my parents when they were young, and it was new, 50 years ago. A completely untouchable thing, then, for them.

Now today, I can buy it or many others for less than the cost of many new cars, and use it for years if I choose. The boat hasn't changed that much except for it's relative monetary value.

Isn't that odd?
