Yeah, if you're going to run your engine or generator in a quiet anchorage, expect the worst. 
In Response To: Generator noise ()
There simply is no ambient noise that's as annoying as an engine running for an hour in a quiet anchorage. But it happens so it is nice if people try not to do it early morning or late afternoon and evening.
A worse sound is my dogs barking. Can you imagine if I allowed them an hour each day to bark?
