First I agree about the disturbance caused by the noise and I avoid using my 2000i. However after several days at anchor I do need to charge and my choices are either the engine or the Honda. I wait until after at least after the third cup of coffee and I see that everyone else is up and about before using either and do not run after about 1600. I would like to find a reasonable way to either further muffle the Honda or extend its exhaust over the transom and down close to the water. While a 1000 would do the job on the boat, the 2000 does double duty at home. It will keep the refrigerator, some lights and fans going when there is a power failure in the summer. In the winter it will run the oil furnace and some lights. I do have to shut down the furnace from time to time and fire up the refrigerator.
