Hey Tom,
He was on the final leg of his 2 year Atlantic Circle on his beautiful Bristol 32... An absolutely wonderful gentleman, he used to post here back in the old days...
He spent 2 summers cruising throughout Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, if memory serves... He said virtually everywhere he went, he heard some variation of the following refrain:
"What a pleasant surprise, to see an American cruising on a sensibly-sized boat..." (grin)
Each winter I go south, the average boat certainly appears to be getting bigger. I see virtually no one out there anymore, on a boat as small as mine... And when I do, almost guaranteed it will be flying a Canadian flag...
2 of the last 3 sailboat deliveries I've done were a Cabo Rico 42, and a Gozzard 44... In both cases, those were the FIRST boat for each owner...
best regards,
Jon
