...in an airfloor inflatable. I have considered a mushroom.
I fully agree on the VHF.

Late season, another cruiser left Rockport this weekend, headed south.
We had a rigid plastic dinghy in the Carribean and it was a good compromise.
128 pounds. That's a lot for a 7'7" dinghy.
Sorry, but the appeal of those things is completely lost on me...
The hard dinghy vs inflatable debate, is like politicts. A "fools errand",
to try to change someones preference.
And here's that Nesting dinghy in use.
The payload,....
I want to see that scenario in a 3 foot chop.
1 foot would have sunk them. Moms know when to say when.
MOM rowing yeah!!!!
I really enjoyed watching our own David P row his family and their dog around Lunenberg...
btw, here's a good piece by Tom Zydler on beefing up an inflatable's oarlocks for rowing...
Nice article! It's wonderful to see more people rowing their inflatables.
Jon, Jim would lap you in his Pudgy, no problem.
Inflatable is better than hard. It has to do with safety.
That's nonsense, Dan. The only time we "lost" our kids, they were in an inflatable.
It was your choice of inflatable"Tom that was the problem...
I didn't open it until the kitchen cleared.
Funny Story on my first time using Dink
An anchor and VHF radio
Smart advice.

Mushrooms don't grab the botom
We have found a small bruce to be the perfect dinghy anchor
I keep my dinghy danforth in a container
Ours mounts under the forward thwart.
I agree, I think one of the most important features in a dinghy anchor...
I have a small fortress with 6' of chain on 75' of nylon
Oh no, not a -dinghy-, anchor thread
Hey, some of us need this... we're newbies...
Sorry, I was kidding on the anchor war.
Tom, I understood... no problem... you can kid the new guy.
Beach sandals are essential dinghy gear
You'll get hooked on it -- eventually ;^)))
our AB rowed really nice. Did it all the time
But if it's not going to go up on deck...
So I guess none of these boats are you Jon?
Can't figure out how to put multiple pics in a single post
I wonder when someone will think to add truck mirrors
Here's another way to carry a dinghy.
Here's one of my favorites...
Looks like that guy had plenty of other windage...
Regarding multihulls and dinghy storage convenience - I did not find that to be the case.
The first time I used davits...
That Maine Cat looks much slicker than the normal cat arrangement...
It depends on the setup
Here's another, more complimentary picture....
LOL! That's harsh.
I can't agrue the asthetics, but let's talk to a real user, Jim.
Picture of a bunch of chicks simply eating up a Portland Pudgy
Looks like it was squashed...
Clearly not a case of " being out of one's gourd"
