We have found a small bruce to be the perfect dinghy anchor

It sets well in sand and grabs rocks/coral extremely well - and is robust enough to not bend. It has problems with grass, but I just dive down and push it in or find a rock to wedge it under.

We had very poor luck with folding grapnels, and have yet to find anyone who can get their dinghy to hold using them. Even in rocks, where they should be good. And we have a large one!

Danforths are guaranteed to pinch your fingers/toes and bruise your body when you sit/fall on them. Most danforths we see in dinghies are also bent pretty badly from anchoring in rocks/coral.

We anchor our dinghy more often than we do our main boat, and dragging anchor can literally mean death for us since we may be miles from shore on a reef.
