Good links below..IMHO fairly simple to set up, most systems are basically the same..you can make your own with some line, grommets and pulleys, etc. but kits are easier. Biggest thing is to have a system that is easy to get out of the way and stows on/along the mast/boom quickly and easily although many just sail with the jacks up but that tends to give one wear marks on the sail where it rubs against the lines. Having some hooks along the boom to secure the lines when stowed helps to hold them taut along the boom when you stow the system. A loop or two on the mid-range line to secure on the mast to a hook helps too and keeps the jacks tight to the mast. When stowed hook lines to boom and mast and pull taut.
Bottom line you all the lines to be taut when not in use so placement of the hooks is important, and being in easy reach for you as well for stowing and release. hooks with closures is best so when you hoist the lines don't re-engage the hooks and get snagged.
