I always regretted not getting the main I wanted

() When we bought our boat it had an old Hyde Streamstay, behind the mast furling main system. It self destructed by the time we got to the VI so I ordered a new main from Doyle in St. Thomas. I wanted full battens but then I was told I needed at least 'Sailtrack ' and was running out of money so I ordered partials.
Mistake,,,, I should have just spent the money and got the main i felt was right for the boat.. We sailed another 25,000 and 10 years with a main I was unhappy with.
